These ice cream sandwiches are super simple to make and add just enough red, white & blue festivity to your Fourth of July celebration. I’m sure any child would love to help make them too (while you have a quick little nap on the porch)…
Fourth of July Ice Cream Sandwiches
Editor’s note: Full transparency here. I will never turn down an ice cream sandwich. The perfect combination of ice cream and cookie is such a delicious treat. Even the super cheap ones are just fantastic in my honest opinion.
Today we’re sharing a fun way to make them festive for Fourth of July. It’s SO easy and doesn’t require any baking or cooking!
A crowd pleasing dessert, festive looking, and something the kids can help assemble in a CINCH?
YES and YES!
Maybe even get the kids to help with the star stamped napkins/tablecloth or flower crowns next?
Supplies:
• mini ice cream sandwiches
• red, white & blue sprinkles
• popsicle sticks
Steps
- Unwrap the sandwich
- Stick a popsicle stick at least halfway through the bottom
- Dip all three sides into a mixture of red/white/blue sprinkles
If you aren’t serving these right away, a helpful tip is to layout a piece of wax/parchment paper on a cookie sheet, unwrap them, and then stick the pan in the freezer to allow them to refreeze and harden before putting sprinkles on them.
Lay the finished ice cream sandwiches on the cookie sheet after dipping until it’s time to enjoy them.
OR just eat them right away and have your mini guests help!
