A Dinner Party with Kids: The Living Room Picnic

CVS Gold Emblem

We love hosting dinner parties but it’s always inconvenient and expensive to get a babysitter, so sometimes we just invite the kids along! Here’s a tip to make it more enjoyable for everyone…

First, set up the dining room for adults with appetizers and drinks. Then set up a living room picnic for the kids! Order some pizza and set down a big picnic blanket. Put on a movie or play music, and set out plenty of games.

The real key to keeping them entertained is plenty of snacks they love. CVS Pharmacy has a line of Gold Emblem and Gold Emblem Abound snacks with something for everyone. From white cheddar popcorn and Sea Salt Potato Fries, to Brown Rice Marshmallow Bars and Strawberry and Banana Fruit Twists, there are loads of delicious and healthy options. Plus, it’s easy to pick up snacks along with all the other necessities for our family in one place without having to go to multiple stores.

The more entertained the kids are, the more enjoyable the evening is for everyone!

Adults can mingle with appetizers and drinks, or work the disco ball for the kids like my friend Etienne is doing here. After the kids have settled into a game or movie, the adults can then sit for a relaxing dinner.

In the spirit of the Olympic Games going on (are your kids as into it as ours are???) we gave some awards to our favorite snacks. The Sea Salt Potato Fries got the gold, the White Cheddar Popcorn came in with the silver, and the Strawberry and Banana Fruit Twists were awarded the bronze.

Fun night for kids, relaxing evening for adults. Yippee!

I’m proud to partner with CVS Pharmacy to promote their exclusive Gold Emblem and Gold Emblem abound snack lines. I am being sponsored by CVS Pharmacy for my posts and activities, but all opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.
