DIY Balsa Wood Tags for a Special Valentine’s Day Gift

Today I’m sharing a simple DIY tag to attach to a really special Valentine’s Day gift, perhaps for someone beyond a romantic partner. Of course we love celebrating romantic love for Valentine’s Day, but celebrating other people we love and appreciate like an amazing boss, our close girlfriends, our children, is a great way to spread the Valentine’s Day love with a little PDG (Public Display of GODIVA).

We’re partnering with the decadent GODIVA Chocolates for this post and their beautiful Red KeepsakeHeart box of chocolates (such a classic gift!). Keep reading to see how we made these personalized conversation heart tags…

Sharing the Valentine’s Day love beyond our romantic partner makes a gift that much more special, and such a sweet surprise. GODIVA helps us show our love in a big way with their elegant, classic, and memorable boxes filled with premium Belgium chocolates. Once more, making our GODIVA Red Keepsake Heart personalized with a homemade tag is even sweeter. Here’s how:

1. Start with a piece of thin balsa wood in a medium thickness (you can find some at your local hobby store). Trace with a heart cookie cutter and pencil.

2. Cut out the heart carefully with scissors.

3. With an alphabet stamping set, come up with a fun conversation heart phrase for your girlfriends or boss. We chose “rad lady boss” and “UR sweet BFF”

4. Attach some satin ribbon to the back of the balsa wood heart with a glue gun to make it into a tag.
