Our first year in San Francisco we lived in an apartment across the street from a deli. Every summer at least once the deli owner would pull a bbq out and sell grilled orchard peaches topped with vanilla ice cream on the sidewalk. They were amazing and we’ve been meaning to recreate it ever since. Peaches are a funny thing though, I feel like I have a couple good peaches a year, they’re so hard to come by. This past week was one of those magic peach weeks. We picked some up from the Marin farmers market on Wednesday and as soon as I bit into one I knew they were worthy of this favorite summer dessert.
Grilled peaches ‘N Cream with Salted Caramel Sauce
Cut peaches in half and grill on a cast iron indoor grill pan or outdoors. Top with vanilla ice cream and drizzles of salted caramel sauce (my recipe is here but you can also use store bought sauce too!).
