There’s nothing I love better than an impromptu party. When it’s last minute the expectations go waaaay down for everyone. It becomes more about the good company and vibe than fancy invites, prepping all day in the kitchen, or signature cocktails. Host a Last Minute Award Season Party
There’s an awards show almost every week this next month (which one is your favorite?). You could totally just enjoy it in your pjs, but who doesn’t love an excuse to put together a cheese plate and dress up in some sparkle for a last minute party with great company?
Here’s the game plan to make it happen:
1. Cut some confetti out of shiny silver paper. You could totally use a regular hole puncher too. We happened to have a star puncher one on hand, but shiny circle confetti totally works too.
2. With Amazon Prime and Oh Happy Day Party shop shipping overnight, so you can get every shiny thing you need. We ordered these shiny plates, star napkins, and this metallic festooning to hang on the wall.
I think these disco ball drink tumblers are my favorite, from Amazon Prime! Plus, a lot of the metallic stuff is on sale right now from New Years. Gaby also found her $5 disco ball earrings from there.
3. For food, instead of spending all afternoon in the kitchen or running around picking up groceries, order food with Uber Eats. It’s not just takeout you can order. We ordered from a local wine and cheese shop here called Farmstead Cheeses and Wine, to put together our own cheese plate, delivered to our door. You can also track your order, the way you track an Uber car arriving, and you can easily pay with your Uber account.
Uber Drivers pick up your order and delivery it usually within the hour. The best part is the schedule ahead feature so you can order everything way before to arrive right when you want it to. One last thing to worry about the hour before.
The easiest prep for the fanciest, last minute party.
Oh! Last but not least, don’t forget to ask your guests to dress in their shiny best (everyone loves an excuse to wear something sparkly in their closet, right?)
