I’m hoping to get you on the Green Smoothie train. Smoothies rock in so many ways – they are easy, quick, full of whole foods, and please little kids and big kids alike. If you need to sneak more green vegetables into your son, daughter, husband, or self here is the way to do it.
I’m sharing my two favorite green smoothies. They are both vegan, gluten free, and contain some healthy fat and protein so you are filled up and satisfied. The joy of smoothies is that they are ever adaptable so please get creative and toss your favorites into the blender. Here are the two best green smoothies…
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup mango chunks (fresh or frozen)
1 banana
1/2 cup fresh orange juice (like squeezed from oranges)
1 cup baby spinach leaves
1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1 banana
1 cup kale leaves
2 tablespoons almond butter
Simply blend until smooth.
PS. If you live somewhere warm both make delicious frozen green smoothie pops!
I’m already a green smoothie aficionado, but always appreciate new recipes! The Rainforest sounds especially good – I would probably add more greens to mine and forego the coconut milk for plain water (but might add a little coconut oil!) but I love the combination of flavors! Yum.
Thanks for sharing these!
I have been making the Dino all week! I love it. I am headed to the store today to stock up for more 🙂
Yum! Where did you get the cute straws?
I love a green smoothie-my school has a build your own smoothie bar and I’m always sneaking over to the salad line for spinach!!!

yum! the dino sounds delicious.. i’ve been stuck creating the same berries and banana w/ coconut water concoction for the past year and will be trying these soon!
I’ve tried both this week and they’re both super delicious!
Hi-just wondering what type of coconut milk you suggest. The stuff in a can or the stuff you would find in the dairy aisle?
I used lowfat coconut milk in a can but Sarah, maybe you have another suggestion?
Yes, I use low fat coconut milk from a can as well! My only tip is to store the extra coconut milk in ice cube trays for easy smoothie making. Yum!
Thanks for the recipes! I have been wanting to get into green smoothies for a while now but have yet to find a recipe I really love. Can’t wait to try both of these 🙂 The Rainforest, with the coconut milk, sounds particularly good.
My kids love smoothies in the summer! I had my first spinach smoothie the other night, and it was amazing! Vanilla greek yogurt, frozen strawberries, banana, OJ, and so much spinach! I’m definitely going to start adding spinach to all of our smoothies from now on.
I love it! You really can’t taste it at all and so much good in that spinach. Here’s a tip: freeze the whole bag of spinach so it doesn’t go bad and you always have it in the freezer ready to go
Smoothies, where have you been!?
I used to make smoothies all.the.time, but I think with winter and the need for warm comfort food they sort of got left by the wayside.
Thank you for reintroducing them back into my daily routine! These ones look scrumptious.
They look delicious AND they match my other favorite drinks: Margaritas. Win!
Thanks everyone – I hope you try them and love to hear your favorites! I can never get enough Green Smoothie inspiration!
Thanks for this, I am JUST getting into it!! All these flavors sound delicious.
LOOOOOVE smoothies!! I’ve been making one almost every morning for the last month or so. I don’t know I didn’t start years ago!! I love that they are so healthy and get in a lot of greens. My daily smoothie is pretty much spinach or kale, banana, green apple, chia seeds or flax, maybe some fresh ginger if I have it and a little 100% juice such a mango or apricot. I put some cucumber in mine from time to time and it really makes it extra refreshing or half an avocado to make it extra creamy since I like mine pretty thick, lol. Going to try both of these, can’t wait!! 🙂
Ginger is such a good idea! I’ll have to try that- thanks! I always add chia seeds as well in my green smoothies
This couldn’t have come at a better time. I just told my husband last night that we need to add more green smoothie recipes to the repertoire. I’ve been tiring of the same concoction. Will try these out for sure! Thanks so much.
i LOVE green smoothies. i’ve been making the first one for a while now and am going to start calling it the rainforest because it’s more fun that way!
I just tried the rainforest one this morning and it was amazing! Yum! Excited to make it again.
