Four Ways We Wear Our Cropped Pants

A couple weeks ago, Ashley posted about 10 favorite street trends this fall, and today we’re exploring one of them in more detail: the cropped flare pant. When we mentioned them before, some of you loved the look, and others were not feeling it. I was skeptical at first, but I’ve really warmed up to them now and both Sarah (modeling here) and I find ourselves wearing versions of them all the time. From trousers to vintage levi’s, to jumpsuits and high waisted jeans. We’re all about the cropped pant right now. Wondering how to wear them? Here are four of our favorite ways…

1. The tucked in tee. I’ve found myself tucking everything in lately, and this is especially true with high waisted cropped flares. Give your legs their FLP (full length potential) in your high waisted cropped pants with a tight tucked tee, denim jacket, and high dark clogs for fall.

2. Timeless black turtleneck. I’m really happy to see this back in style since they’re as iconic as the style setters who wore them: Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O, etc. Sarah tucked hers into a pair of cropped high waisted jeans with a pair of my very favorite calf boots I’m always wearing for in the closet.

3. Fall’s patterns. I’m excited for fall’s plaids, ginghams, flannels to be back in fashion! Right now we love a short sleeve version that’s boxy and meant to be tucked in. Don’t be scared to mix and match your cropped jeans with scarfs, jackets, and sweaters in fall’s patterns and colors.

4. Mixing up the layers. New this season we’ve been seeing a lot of play with layering, like a boxy sweater over a denim jacket. Add a tucked in tee to your cropped pants and you’ve got a cozy fall look.

It would be cool to see some women with full figures, or even outfits that translate to full figures represented in these posts 🙂 These outfits are all great, but a tucked in shirt doesn’t look quite that cute on my frame. I know you and your team are all smaller people, but just something to think about!

I just met Sarah a few weeks ago at Precita Park and recognized her from your stylish mom series:)

I just bought those madewell ones over the weekend, ha! Looking good Sarah!
