Henry’s been a great sport about this recent move, which has made it so much easier on everyone. He was even counting down the days to when the moving truck came! Maybe because we’ve been talking about a potential move for so long, or maybe because he has cousins five minutes away. But I think a lot of it has to do with having his own room in our new house when he’s been sharing with Edie since she was 6 months old. Still, it’s been a big adjustment for him to start school mid-year and be the new kid. We wanted him to get settled as quickly as possible so I’ve tried to make it a priority to get his room setup, at least for the time being. Today we partnered with Target’s new line of kid-friendly bedding and accessories, Pillowfort, to decorate his room together with really cute products that kids and adults both love.

It’s been difficult for Henry to share a room with Edie for the last two years. He couldn’t play in his room during her naps, had to sneak in every night to get his pajamas, and then we’d whisper while we tucked him in so not to wake her. Now he’s got his own space which is so great!

We worked together with Henry to come up with a few things he needed. We were both drawn mostly to the Pillowfort Camp Kiddo Line, which is where we found most of our items. The wire milk crate ($11.99) above makes it easy to throw toys in quickly and the forest plush blanket is perfect for reading books together at night on his bed. Both from the Pillowfort at Target line as well. Henry’s been really loving Cub Scouts so we found a vintage H hook to hang his uniform and cap on.

I love this triangle stitch bedding we found from Pillowfort as well. It’s not to heavy, not too light, and super soft. It’s only $27.99 too! The blue task lamp is perfect for reading and we love the touch on/off feature (you just tap the bottom). Only $19.99 and it comes in 9 different colors. I’m thinking of getting the white one for my office.

The dresser we got for $50 on craigslist and we added new hardware to make it more updated. The green rug we’ve had for a few years that I’ve been saving for when he had his own room. And isn’t the fox pillow cute? Another great find from the Pillowfort line at Target. They have a lot of cute throw pillows and cushions as well I’m eyeing for our family room downstairs. The artwork is a beautiful piece by my aunt Deborah Barlow that she gifted when he was born.

Henry claims he doesn’t miss sharing a room with Edie, but I think he secretly does.
