Welcome Amber! This jumpsuit looks like the perfect piece! Tell us more about it…

I love a good jumpsuit. They’re stylish, comfortable, and easy. It’s a one-stop piece. All you have to do is add shoes and you’re good to go. The chambray jumpsuit I’m wearing is Ilana Kohn that I found on this rad site called, Garmentory. Warning: it’s addictive because it makes you feel like everything you buy was a score. If anything has changed with my style since becoming a mom, its definitely gotten more streamlined and comfortable. The priorities for me now are not only style but comfort, ease, something that moves, and with pockets. Always with pockets.

What is one favorite piece in your wardrobe that is both practical for a mother and stylish?

My chambray button-up shirts from Madewell. I have one in a dark wash for fall/winter and one in a light wash for spring/summer. They are like my second skin.

Have you splurged on any item in your postpartum wardrobe?

Having a daughter is dangerous. Everything is so cute. I enjoy splurging on her just as much as myself! But when I do splurge on myself it’s usually an Ace&Jig piece. Honestly, I probably splurge more since becoming a mom. I shop less and spend more. I just find myself wanting clothes that will last and standup to motherhood more than wanting to shop frequently.

What kind of fashion advice do you have for postpartum, in-between sizes new moms?

Newly postpartum I wore a lot of leggings, loose tops, tunics, caftans (which are not only forgiving of your tummy, but also great for nursing!), and lots of black! Also, invest in a good haircut. You may not being able to really get dressed everyday (especially newly postpartum), but you do wear your hair everyday so get a cut and style that makes you feel beautiful. And, most importantly, be kind to yourself. It’s really hard to be at first when your body is so different from how it was before you were pregnant. I got a few stretch marks when I was pregnant with my daughter and, at first, I was really disappointed about them. But now, two-and-a-half years later, I can honestly say I’m fond of them. They remind me of that sweet time I had with her and the incredible thing my body did!

What beauty product can you not live without, and why is it your favorite?

MAC In Extreme Dimension black mascara. It makes your eyelashes do all the right things. And if I don’t have a lot of time to spend getting ready in the morning (i.e. most mornings) at least putting mascara on makes me feel a little more awake and human. Also, a trick I’ve found with mascara…I only put it on my top lashes. I swear it makes me look less tired.

Do you have a beauty regimen you swear by?

Coconut oil! I put it on my face and whole body. I don’t use any other moisturizer. I put it on in the morning and before I go to bed.The stuff is pure magic. My skin has never been healthier. Its also amazing for diaper rash and sore nipples! My Konjac facial sponge is a new must-have as well. I use mine every night before bed. I had my first encounter with this natural sponge a few months ago and couldn’t believe how smooth and soft it made my skin. I had been on the fence about getting the Clarisonic after I tried my friend’s out, and am so glad I found this before I took the plunge! It makes my skin just as soft and it’s only $10!

favorite sneaker: Bensimon sneakers. They’re chic, super comfortable, and I love that they go with skirts and dresses just as much as they do with jeans.
favorite comfy boot: Sam Edelman’s petty ankle boot. Affordable, quality, and go with everything.
favorite casual dress or skirt: Like I mentioned before, anything Ace&Jig. Their textiles and designs are out of this world. I’ve been living in their Cliff dress this spring and summer, which is out of stock now, but here is an image of it being worn in a post from Cup of Jo. I’ve never worn a more comfortable, mama-friendly dress (soft fabric, pockets, and buttons in the front if you’re nursing!). Here is one of my favorite Ace&Jig dresses for fall that I’m thinking about getting.
old reliable pair of jeans: Levis (skinny)
favorite place to vacation: Where I grew up. The islands in the Puget Sound.
band on permanent rotation in my spotify: Broods (Live)
your go to accessory: Lipstick (NARS Heatwave and MAC Ruby Woo are favorites)
color or black and white: Too hard to choose! The black and white look is so stunning. But, I wear color more. It’s therapeutic I think, it speaks to me.
