We have another Secrets of Stylish Say Yes moms today! As a twist on the usual Secrets of Stylish Moms, I thought it would be fun to feature Sara, Ashley, and Sarah who work with me here since they are always such inspiring and fashionable mamas.  This week we’re featuring Ashley. Ashley has been with me for almost 3 years. She works on all the fashion posts and fab finds posts that you all know and love every week. It’s always so easy to work with Ashley because she and I are drawn to very similar stuff and it often feels like she’s literally reads my mind! Ashley also does a lot of graphic design for the site as well and lots of other invaluable coordinating and managing behind the scenes so things run smoothly here. Also she just became a mother a year ago to Hazel, whose the sweetest thing. You’ll see her below…

Tell us more about your look…

Ever since I had a baby I’ve been really into high-waisted jeans. It’s so nice to have a jean that can hold all of the “new me” together. Another thing I’m a fan of as a mom is layers. Great for the occasional hot flash or chill as well as when I spill lunch on my shirt (and blame it on my daughter) while promptly buttoning up my overshirt. Overall I like outfits that are simple, comfortable and neutral (just ask me how many grey sweaters I have in my closet).

What is one favorite piece in your wardrobe that is both practical for a mother and stylish?

Actually, it’s probably this jacket I’m wearing from Old Navy. I found myself wanting a military/cargo style jacket but wasn’t sure it was my style (or how much longer it would be in style). But when I found a supper affordable option at Old Navy I jumped on it. It’s one of my favorite practical mother pieces. It’s great for layering and has giant pockets that I can fit snacks, keys, my phone, wallet and lipstick in! I don’t always like to carry a purse or diaper bag for quick outings so this jacket is a perfect option.

What would you consider your go-to ‘momiform’ to be?

High-waisted jeans with a tee or light sweater and my converse chucks. I usually layer on a jacket and or scarf to stay warm and add interest. Simple, yet comfortable!

What is something you do for yourself everyday?

I like to try and go on a walk everyday, usually in the morning when everything is still quiet. It gives me a chance to get some fresh air and clear my head and my daughter Hazel loves it too.

For moms on a mission to rebuild their wardrobe, what are 5 staple pieces you’d recommend?

A good chambray (I love mine from Zara), a basic white tee for layering (I love my everlane tee), a nice pair of booties, a good pair of leggings and some black jeans. Oh and a practical but stylish jacket.

Have you splurged on any item in your postpartum wardrobe?

I went out and got a good pair of jeans from Madewell (which I actually got half off…) and I’ve been on the hunt for a good leather (or faux leather) jacket.

Do you have a beauty regimen you swear by?

When I want a little extra glow I wash my face with my favorite cleanser from Lush. It makes my face brighter and super soft.

favorite place to vacation: My husbands granny lives on the hillside in Hawaii on a macadamia nut farm and it’s one of my favorite places in the world.
