Now that we’re back from our big trip (recap coming soon!), I’m set on slowing down and enjoying summer here at home…
Henry’s away this week at cousins camp, so it’s just the girls to entertain in the afternoons after work. One of the easiest ways to make it feel special is to squeeze some fresh lemonade from the ponderosa lemons in our yard, and set up a little picnic dinner. If it’s warm, we might even blow up the unicorn pool and put on our swimsuits!
Our picnics are super simple. Lemonade, fruit, bread with butter, veggies, and cheese. Maybe some leftovers. A glass of wine for Jared and I. Zero prep. No rules on what they need or how much they eat (I’ve given up trying to control what they eat). Maybe some cloth picnic games (like this DIY one from a few years back).
I let them wander in and out of the picnic while we blow bubbles, draw with chalk on the patio, do some gardening, build a new structure for the fairy garden, or have a car/bike wash. Play some fun summery music (love this reggae spotify playlist). DONE. Best + easiest summer dinner ever!
What have your summer days been like?
