Sarah and her family live down the street from the most beautiful nursery and gardens in the San Francisco. This post is sponsored by Dansko’s line of comfy summer sandals and clogs from Zappos, we’re visiting it along with a yummy eatery across the street.
Whenever I go to Sarah’s house, I make it a point to stop by Flora Grubb Gardens. It’s a gorgeous nursery with wandering paths of beautiful plants, ceramics, and pretty spots to sit adn soak up this sunny side of San Francisco. On the weekend it can get packed, but the weekdays are quiet and peaceful. You can almost always find a cozy spot to shop for a new plant, or just sit and read for a bit.
The selection is really beautiful, fairly priced, and the staff super helpful. I also love that they have a complimentary planting area to pot your newly purchased plant. Which is really nice if you don’t have an outdoor area to do it at home (which was our situation in our San Francisco flat). You can also go inside and get a cup of Ritual coffee (one of my very favorites!) and a pastry at the cafe.
Sarah is wearing these Dansko Vera sandals from Zappos. They’re really comfy (as all Danskos are) and the treated leather is super soft. Plus, they have just a bit of a heel which is nice, while still being very comfortable for everyday use like running around doing errands, or at the park with the kids. I love how versatile they are. Cute with cropped pants like these chambray culottes, skirts, and shorts.
This time of year is my favorite for clothing. It’s not too hot, but the winter clothes are officially packed away for a few months, and the sandals and tanks are starting to come out of hibernation (hooray!). Recently I met with a closet organizer and we were both laughing about how summer-heavy my wardrobe is. I guess I have a thing for warm weather dressing. Bring on the sandals, tanks, and flowy dresses!
After Flora Grubb, we walked across the street to All Good Pizza. It’s an outdoor casual eating area that’s essentially a permanent food truck with the most delicious pizza, salads, and sandwiches. They also have great Italian sodas and house made lemonade. Sarah says they often have bands that come play on the weekend, so her whole family will walk over for a casual drink and dinner together under the string of cafe lights.
