Dot’s FIRST birthday is next week. How nuts is that?!? Today we’re partnering with Old Navy to give you a glimpse into what life is like with this little sunshine…
A few things about Dottie May at one year old I don’t want to forget:
1. She’s quite a bit smaller than both Henry and Edie at that same age. Especially Edie, who was always such a butterball of a baby. Everything about Dot is small from her features to her little legs. She easily fits into her 6 months clothes, unless they’re footed. Because she may be thin, but this girl is tall!
3. Dot loves to eat and even though she only has 2 lower teeth, she’ll rarely be spoon fed baby food anymore. She will eat little bits of almost anything we’re eating from pizza to berries and broccoli. She wants to eat exactly what we’re eating. If you try to feed her avocado when we’re eating spaghetti, she will let you know to hand over the spaghetti!
4. Dot is not really into crawling. She can do it fine, but I think she gets so much attention that she just doesn’t really need to. She’s very cautious. Even when she rolls over she carefully lowers her head to look at what’s behind her.
I’m wearing a yellow striped dress from Old Navy (in stores, but here’s something similar). It’s so comfy, and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it! Edie’s wearing this sparkle cami dress for $15. Old Navy has so many cute dresses right now. I’m eyeing this summery one for me, and this one for Edie.
In these images here Henry was doing a funny voice while he was reading the book and she loved it! Belly laughs again and again.
Henry’s wearing a chambray button-down shirt $17 and some dark blue jeans for $20 from Old Navy.
9. Henry is super sweet with Dot. He knows what she likes and tries hard to make her happy. Edie on the other hand? She might call her ‘dottie cutie pie’, but when you’re not looking will grab her toy or pull her down into a neck hold. Our pediatrician told us the most dangerous thing in the house for a baby is their toddler sibling. I believe it!
10. Dot is all about routine and familiarity. If there are different surroundings or people she isn’t quite herself. Don’t even think about trying to switch things up on her!
Oh we love this girl so much!!! Happy first birthday to DOTTIE MAY!
