Did you see that we’ve started our Halloween costumes up again this year? In case you missed it you can see the four family costumes we posted here. And now onto couples costumes! What’s more classic than Danny and Sandy from Grease? There are many ways you could approach this costume but we felt the looks from the ending scene in the movie (you know the one) would be the easiest to recreate. The hardest thing about this costume may just be learning the dance moves from the movie.
Keep reading for more pictures and costume details…
Sandy: Simple black leggings (we got ours at F21), a black top, hoop earrings, red lipstick, red heels and a fake cigarette from Amazon.
Danny: A black fitted tee (ours is from Gap), skinny black jeans, black shoes and candy cigarette box.
Stay tuned for the rest of our couples costumes coming over the next few weeks. And be sure and check out our family costumes this year, Star Wars, fruit basket, Peter Pan, and Disneyland Tourists from this year and both our family and couples costumes from last year.
Big thanks to our ever faithful couple models, my baby sister Katrina and her husband Quinn of QP Collections. Photography by Ashley Thalman. Styling by Sarah Larsen. Produced by site manager Ashley Aikele with creative direction by myself, Liz Stanley.
I was beyond surprised to see a cigarette featured in this costume. I think we are way past that being culturally okay. I love coming to Say Yes for awesome ideas that don’t make me feel like a mom but are family friendly. I don’t think tobacco glorification is appropriate in front of children, though. I think this was a weirdly strong lapse in judgment on someone at the blog’s part.
Hi! I get it! These are candy cigarettes and we purposefully featured this for our adult couples costumes, it’s not meant to have a kid audience but I understand your concern 🙂
This is so cute! Although, I think my chances are slim at getting my husband to go along with this!
