This year I’ve been really into minimal, natural looking holiday decor. And that isn’t always easy to find in the store – there are a lot of crazy ornaments out there, folks! After looking for a while, I accepted defeat and decided to make some of my own out of clay! And I just love them!
Keep reading for instructions on making your own clay ornaments…Supplies:
-Air Dry Clay
-Rolling Pin
-Knife
-Skewer
-String
Instructions:
-Roll clay out on wax paper until it’s 1/4″ thick.
-Use your knife or cookie cutters to cut out the shape of your ornament.
-Cut your design into the clay – you can use a cookie cutter for this as well if you don’t want to free hand it.
-Use the skewer to make a hole at the top of your ornament.
-Let dry for 24+ hours. (Check the instructions on the brand you buy.)
-Put the string through the hole you made with the skewer and tie the ends together.
These would also make great gift tags or just a little piece of wall art! Plus, your kiddos will have loads of fun helping out with this project!
I love the geometric shapes and lovely simplicity of these!
