Hearts of Haiti: Live Chat Today!

Right now my husband, Jared, is down in Haiti helping one of his best friends, Matt, with some humanitarian work he’s been doing for a company he started called Hearts of Haiti. Matt quit his job after the earthquake and moved down to Haiti to try to help. He found some orphans living in a field and has been working for the last 8 months to get them sheltered, fed and educated. Here’s a blog he keeps of his progress. It’s incredible to read.

My husband is setting up a live chat today with the orphans, students, caretakers, Matt, and translators. They’re doing it at 2pm EST right when the kids get out of school. A live chat means that anyone can type in questions in an IM box and the orphans, students, etc will answer them on the video screen live. They have funding up through December but that’s it right now so they are really wanting to spread awareness about the great work they’re doing and hopefully get some donations to keep it going.

The live chat starts today at 2pm EST (11am PST) and it will be on their site:

You can talk to the kids, ask them questions, and if you have a few dollars to spare, donate a little something here:

Right now they’re goal is to raise $1000 to level a plot of land to make a soccer field for the kids.
