Great project on Bloesem Craft Projects for creating a tin toy drum out of an old can. I can picture my two year old marching around the (new!) apartment with this. Step by step directions here.

my daughter attended a "soldier" party this past fall where they made these. it was such a hit!hers is still hanging on her doorknob.such a sweet break from all the commericialized party stuff(read:crap) : )
