Outdoor Movie Shower

This weekend I threw an outdoor movie ‘shower’ for my sister and her husband who are expecting a baby girl in September. She wanted something unconventional so we had an outdoor screening of ‘Bringing Up Baby’ in the backyard. Below is the invitation Jared designed from an old ticket stub. We rented a popcorn machine, found some old fashion popcorn boxes (above) and served boxed candy and soda for concessions. It was so fun. It made me want to have an outdoor movie night every weekend in the summer. Next time I want to watch something scary.

My sister Katrina and I (she was in town from NY) with the popcorn machine(sorry this one is kind of fuzzy)

Very clever indeed. I love this idea. I’m sure your friend was ecstatic!P.S. Since I joined a CSA I don’t go down to the farmer’s market very often but the next time I do, I’ll be sure to check out your stall!

I love outdoor theaters! The ticket invitations are wonderful- perfect color and aged look. What a great idea! Much better than a diaper cake. 🙂

that is such a good idea. i want to come next time, so send us one of those cute invites.

What a great idea! They should have made you guys activities committee. I may have to steal the idea! It looks like you all had so much fun!

Love this! What a fun idea and the invites look so cool. I’m sure your sister loved it.

Very cool. I think one day I might have to have one of these parties too. It’s too bad we didn’t live in the avenues at the same time. Those are our old stomping grounds.
