This last year my entire salary has been going toward paying off my student loans from graduate school and now it’s official! My student loans are completely paid off! woo hooo! I can’t wait to buy pre-shelled pistachios at Trader Joes to celebrate. Maybe I’ll go there right now.

I’m proud of you! Paying for Columbia is no small achievement. Good job.I know yours really was tuition, Liz, but Jared’s remark reminds me that I think student loans are a mean trick society plays on kids today. It’s deceptive–like credit cards. Once I overheard a student say, “I get my student loan today. Now I can buy my camera.”
now we just have to start paying off my japan-brazil-germany trips/paraglider i mean student loans.
I wish that was me.
