DIY: Fourth of July Napkins

I can’t believe the Fourth of July is next week! Are you up to anything fun? My sister Becca who lives in Manhattan is coming into town to visit us. Fourth of July in San Francisco is kind of lame. It’s cold, windy, and the fireworks are often lost in the fog. I think we are going to head up to Point Reyes or Stinson Beach for some little adventures since Henry also has the week off school and Jared will be traveling.

I made these Fourth of July napkins last week to get into a summery mood. Are you decorating or entertaining for the Fourth?

Keep reading to see instructions on making these napkins yourself!

For the striped napkins, I lay strips of tape across a natural fabric. Then I applied red fabric paint and let dry. I ripped off the tape which revealed the red stripes beneath!

I used this cute mini star stamp and white ink to create the star design on the second napkin. I’ve been loving stars lately, can’t wait to use this little guy more! I then hemmed and cut the napkins to my desired size.

I love your ideas !

PS.: I have question: what program you use for photo editing (I mean adding text) ?

Liz! I love fourth of July here. Sure, ever other year it’s foggy and you see colored clouds instead of fireworks, but most years you can see them. Brave the crowds and go down to Municipal Pier/Ghirardelli Sq and grab a place on the lawn. They play music while the fireworks go, the bridge is right there, I absolutely love it. Plus, while you’re saving your spot on the lawn, someone can go grab In-N-Out and then later when it’s dark and chilly, yummy cocoa from Ghirardelli.

These are do cute! we are having family over and I’d love to make something like this. Where is the mini star stamp from?
