Green Kitchen

I’ve always wanted to paint a kitchen green. A bright modern green, not minty. So I’m just going to go ahead and do it because the dark red we currently have is really bothering me. Now I just have to pick out exactly which color green. This is the hardest part of painting.

Behr Pepper Grass is my favorite bright green of all time. I can’t wait to see how your kitchen turns out.L

I used a SERIOUS green (Shamrock) from the Marth Stewart line at Lowe’s in our dining room. http://amandarider.blogspot.com/2008/03/dining-room-tour.htmlorhttp://amandarider.blogspot.com/2008/03/mirror-mirrorwho-has-new-camera.htmlWhen I purchased the paint, I almost went down a shade (can’t remember what it was called, but it looks like you may have it as one of your swatches.) We love the color and it works with our white trim, but I wish I had just gone down the one shade. anywho, I have no regrets and it makes me feel very happy.

Green is SO hard. Our kitchen is green (if you remember) and it took me WEEKS to decide. My suggestion is going to Lowes to get those little paint sample things, I think they are called auditions. You can paint them on your wall and see what they look like in all different lights (because my green looks totally different during they day than it does at night). Much easier than trying to decide with the cards.

I remember being struck by that photo when I first saw it in Domino, but it is quite bold, isn’t it? I recommend using Martha Stewart colors. You can get really bold colors, but for some magical reason they don’t look crayon-like on the walls. Bold and natural at the same time- love it! {Oh, and please post after pictures!}

Wow, that kitchen is beautiful. I don’t think I could ever go that bold, but I do LOVE green walls. Good luck deciding!

yeah, i don’t think i can go as green as that first picture, but I’ll go as green as *i can*as green as jared will let me?

fun! can’t wait to see how brave you go with the green. good luck deciding, i recently failed that class.
