My #1 Organizing Tip

Simply, take things out of their original packaging. It might seem easier to just throw the package of toilet paper (or cotton balls, or q-tips, or soaps) onto the bathroom shelf, but it’s way easier to take them out right when you buy them.

It saves time. there’s way less hassle when you do need an item. Only one person has to fumble through the packaging, and not every time a toilet roll is needed. It saves space. Usually can store them in a more efficient way for your storage space, and aren’t limited to size of the packaging it came in. Also, it just looks so much better. Which, honestly is the #1 reason I do it!

I recently read an article about how Americans are prisoners of their own clutter and how stressed out it makes us. I believe it! Lately, I’ve found the best thing I can do for my own stress and sanity is take on a little bite-sized organizing project. Not something huge, one simple thing. My organizer friend Shira suggests if there is a huge project to just “Break it up into small steps and work on one thing a day. Then put those steps into your calendar and it’s super manageable”.

This organizing tip is exactly that. It’s so simple but it makes such a difference in how your cupboards and shelves and bathroom looks.
