Sustainable (and unsustainable) Swaps at Home
When I choose sustainable products (like these products featured here), I’m buying and throwing away less which is more economical, healthier, and better for our environment.

Our favorites are these Bamboo Straws, and the refillable Grove spray bottles. Grove offers products that are gentler on the earth, prioritize post-consumer materials for packaging, and carbon offset every shipment that goes out our door. They’re also partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant one million trees across the United States over the next three years. How amazing is that! I love supporting brands that are doing so much good for our environment.
I’m impressed that Grove has committed to make and sell completely plastic-free products by 2025. It’s a big goal and one that will have such a positive impact on our earth! Also, Grove has consistently been my go-to for home cleaning products these days. I can get toilet paper, sanitizer, and other hard to find cleaning supplies quick and easy! Much easier than other store alternatives.
We’ve had some UNsustainable swaps over here as well. Swapped out our weekly hired cleaning crew with a…less experienced, younger set. In addition to their daily jobs, many Saturday mornings are spent re-teaching this new crew how to properly clean toilets and surfaces.
Dot here is the MVP of her cleaning responsibilities. This girl would spend hours de-sanitizing surfaces and door handles if I wasn’t concerned about the amount of product she was using in the process. Sure appreciate the enthusiasm though!
