We put together a festive holiday table with a candy cane striped tablecloth, star paper placemats, and mini red striped vases for under $10. Here’s how we did it…
An Easy DIY Holiday Table
Here’s how we did it…
Supplies: White tablecloth, assorted thrifted jars, thin red tape, scissors, kraft paper, pencil, and red duct tape.
For the placemats we cut pieces of kraft paper and then ripped off a pieces of red duct tape a little longer than the height of the placemat and wrapped it around the right and left sides. We also stamped it with stars (crave one on the back of a pencil eraser!). Another idea would be to have your younger guests decorate their own placemats.
For the mini vases we found a few thrifted jars and wrapped the bottom with the red duct tape. Then we added two smaller stripes above as well with a thinner tape (you could also cut down the larger duct tape into thinner strips as well). We filled the vases with greenery we clipped from outside.
For the striped tablecloth, take your white tablecloth and lay it flat on the ground. Grab a roll of the red duct tape and rip long pieces, laying them down as you go. It took only about 5 minutes to make. My favorite part about this project is that for the tablecloth you can turn it into something Christmasy and festive, and then rip the tape off and you’re back to your regular white tablecloth. Awesome, right? We used this striped tablecloth for our Say Yes holiday party this past weekend.
