Edie and Henry go back to school this week! Edie’s been really excited to start Kindergarten, so this past week I set up a little study area and DIY desk for her in the guest room in partnership with Tuesday Morning…
I wanted the space to feel like a big kid desk, but still with plenty of sparkle, imagination, and color. Edie was so excited to pick out some new desk accessories and craft supplies for the space.
But first, we had a couple DIY projects…
Now it’s time to decorate and set up the space! We headed to Tuesday Morning and browsed for a bit. I’m always really impressed with their prices and range- there are so many treasures! I can often find fantastic household products, furniture, and toys for really steep discounts. I made a mental note to come back here (without Edie) during the holidays because so many of my kids favorite toys are sold and they’re so much less expensive than other stores and online! It’s impossible to not find something awesome and the employees are super helpful. Curious if there’s a Tuesday Morning near you? Check out their store locator.
We mostly looked in the craft area for new markers, pencils, tape, stickers, stamps, notepads, gold paper clips, and other little fun things for her study space. Of course, some glitter too (what 5 yr old doesn’t love glitter??).
While we were at Tuesday Morning I found some great pieces of desk storage for the space like this paper organizer here, and don’t you love those oversized wooden dice??
My favorite thing might be this writing utensil desk organizer. It fits all different types from markers, crayons and pencils and…it spins which makes it really easy to access for multiple kids at the same table. I also bought a golden stapler, and some new stationary. Edie loves to send letters in the mail to family/friends.
Also found this little wooden marquee message board from Tuesday Morning. I’ve been seeing them around for a while, but they’re usually pretty pricey! This was was such a steal (only $10) and so easy to swap out different sayings whenever you like. ‘Golden’ is Edie’s favorite color.
I added a few other touches to the space like some framed preschool art, pegboards, plants, and other little decor items we had around. I think we’re all set for back to school! Are you??
Thanks to Tuesday Morning for sponsoring this post and helping us set up a new back to school study space for Edie.
