Up to anything fun? We’re ripping up carpet this weekend and starting to work on restoring some hardwood floor in the girls room. I’m so excited to get this project underway! I’ll be sharing the whole process start to finish soon, don’t worry! If things go smooth, I might even make (yet another) apple pie with some of the apples we picked a couple weeks ago. Have a great one, here are some links to explore:

Maybe taking things for granted isn’t all that bad an idea?
Apples baked in cider. I want to try this!

Have you seen the new handmade section on Amazon?
My good friend and artist/activist Michele Pred is hosting a Nevertheless We Vote parade in NYC this November 3rd and has a kickstarter to raise money. It’s an incredible event if you want to donate and/or participate!

The power of introverts. Fantastic TED talk
I’ve been so excited for this book, This is Mexico City. My second cousin Abby Clawson Low who wrote/photographed/designed it is incredible!
Lastly, I think we need to make another apple pie this weekend. This one is calling my name
I got my copy of This is Mexico City last week and then ordered copies for my boss who grew up there and my friends that I traveled to Mexico City with over the summer. The book is fantastic! I love all the photos. Abby definitely captured the color and style and beauty of that city!
When I was about 10 (late 80s), my parents came home from being out and I had – by myself – ripped out all the bay blue carpet in my bedroom, exposing the worn wood floors. I recall my parents being shocked, especially since the carpet was loosely rolled in the hallway, blocking passage. HA! My inherent desire to design and improve my spaces has only expanded with my age and means to make things happen.
I love the recipe for freestyle tacos! Definitely going to make some for Taco Tuesday. Mmm!
Hope you have a great weekend! 🙂
