Last month we spent a dreamy long weekend in South Lake Tahoe, hosted by the Azure Hotel. We’ve spent lots of time in North Tahoe, but not the southern side. It was so dreamy! Here were some highlights:
1. Hotel Azure. It was a fantastic location, right across the street from the lake and close to lots of restaurants and activities like bowling, playgrounds, and lakefront parks. Many of the best restaurants in the area are within just a couple blocks of the hotel! You could also rent bikes from the hotel and travel around on paved sidewalks around the lake. The recent modern renovations made it an extra special treat. My favorite part were the views from the lakefront rooms during sunset. I think the kids’ favorite part was the pool and game room.
3. Mt Tallac hike. One morning Henry came with me on an early hike up Mt Tallac. The views were stunning the entire way and the trailhead was only 15 minutes or so from the hotel. We packed snacks and water and had a great morning in such beautiful country.
5. Epic Summer at Heavenly Resort. One day, Heavenly Resort invited us up to explore their mountain in the summer. We took a gondola up to the top and landed in kid heaven! Ropes courses for all different ages, zip lining, climbing, and playgrounds were spotted all over the area. Both Edie and Henry did some ropes courses, Edie was particularly proud of herself on the little kid course. She did it 3 times, feeling more confident with each one. It always makes me happy to see my kids pushing themselves and gaining confidence and satisfaction from achievement.
