The afternoon, before the chaos of dinner prep and bedtime routines, is one of my favorite time of day (second only to a quiet evening when the kids are down). We play some fun music, open the windows (because, California) and pull out the coloring books and crafts projects while Henry works on his homework. Working on this site continues to demand more and more time, but I’ve been really trying to hold onto those afternoons. Today for our after school kids craft we’re sharing a simple felt ball necklace craft we made in partnership with Munchkin and their new Stainless Steel line of products we love.
We’ve been a big fan of Munchkin for years. All their products are well designed, good looking, and smart. The Stainless Steel line with Snack+™ Stainless Steel Snack Catcher® (might be the most genius kid product ever), Miracle® Stainless Steel 360° Sippy Cup (also, super brilliant), Shine™ Stainless Steel Bottle Brush bottle brushes, and Shine™ Stainless Steel Drying Rack are no exception. The design is flawless but simplistic, they’re durable and good looking.
Durable + good looking products for kids is the winning combination.
And it’s not just the kids that use these new products. I’m often found with one of those Miracle 360° cups to keep my coffee warm while I’m walking Henry to school. Does anyone else know it’s a sippy cup?!?. They’re so sleek looking!
Today while we’re enjoying snacks and drinks (Edie always wants orange juice in her cup), we’re working on a simple felt ball necklace. This is a simple way to use up leftover balls of felt or yarn from other projects you may have done.
Simply grab an embroidery needle and some string, and weave them to make a simple summery necklace.
Edie choose her favorite color (dark pink, not light pink) and help me pull the balls onto the thread until they ‘kissed’ each other, which she thought was so funny.
Sizing it to adjust the length (and some window dancing of course). Ever since we built this window bench seating last month, she’s been all about the window dancing during every meal.
Can we talk about how much I love this window bench seating though? Our friend Phil came down to build it for us, and it makes me happy every day. The kitchen is becoming not just a place to eat, but also a great hang out spot. You can see a peek of our white washed floors but I promise a full kitchen update tour is coming soon!
We gave everything a quick wash and scrub with the Shine™ Stainless Steel Bottle Brush bottle brushes and Shine™ Stainless Steel Drying Rack . I don’t know why I’ve waited so long to get a drying rack, these things are so handy! I love how the upper level drips onto the lower keeping everything drying out of the old water.
Three cheers for a chill afternoon, now moving on to dinner prep…
Thanks to Munchkin for sponsoring this post and making products we all love. For more after school kid craft ideas, check out the rest of the posts in our series here.
