Next up in our family costumes is the family fruit basket! This is a great idea for Halloween because the options are endless! For our fruit basket we have the classic banana, apple, grapes and a little baby peach! You could easily add in a pear, watermelon, strawberry, blueberry or more!
Keep reading for instructions…
Grapes: Start with a purple dress (Kayti’s was thrifted), then simply pin on some handmade paper leaves, and small balloons.
Baby Peach: Swaddle baby in a color appropriate blanket, add a green hat and some paper leaves and that’s it!
Banana: For our banana man we took some yellow thrifted fabric and cut out a front and back piece. To attach the pieces together we sewed a few straps at the shoulders and a few on the sides. We topped the banana with some black paper.
Apple: For our apple costume we sewed together two white pillow cases length wise. We then opened the sides and cut a hole in the top for the head and attached red fabric to the top and bottom. Paper seeds were attached with pins and stem was attached with hair pins. This look could also be no sew with the use of safety pins.
What fruit would you put in your fruit basket?

What a cute idea! Love that everything was made from thrifted fabric 🙂
This costume is so fun and cute! I love it!
