DIY: Vintage Style Bowtie Headband

I’ve been so into scarves and headbands lately. This one is a classic Betty Draper in a pretty blue  (made from an old Ikea curtain I had in my fabric stash). It’s weird, when I wear it I have the sudden urge to bake a layered cake and gossip with society gals during horseback riding lessons.

In case you missed it, I have a tutorial here on making a turban headband scarf (I wear this one a few times a week!) and two ways to tie a scarf into a summer turban here

Thank you so much for this tutorial…I have made heaps of these this week from all sorts of fabrics. You can see I have talked about them a LOT on my blog. Such a quick and super-cute idea!

it's super easy and good looking. I definately will give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

Marloes, YES! I have that same problem. I purposely made the elastic loose so that it wouldn't be tight and slide off. Let me know if that works for you!

Heey, love this! But I was just wondering.. When I wear headbands they always tend of slide off.. do you have this problem and if so what to do to prevent this? Thank you!

Liz, I love all your beautiful head adornments. I just imagine that no one could look prettier in them than you and your pretty red lips. So lovely.

This is adorable, I'm going to make myself one for fall! Love your lipstick color too 😀

I will try this too for my daughter swan party! Looks great! thanks for Idea!! 🙂

Anon, I'm sorry you think so. I'm not sure what you're referring to. If there's another tutorial similar, it's purely a coincidence. If you want to discuss this further, please email me! I don't respond (typically) to anonymous comments that are mean and disrespectful.
