BlogNog: Thanksgiving Centerpiece

Blognog time again! First up today we have the stylish Madeline from Uber Chic for Cheap sharing a fun Thanksgiving centerpiece idea. Welcome, Madeline!

Hello! I was so excited when Liz contacted me to participate in her fantastic blognog series. I was even more excited to find out I had been assigned to write about Thanksgiving. I have a soft spot for any holiday celebration revolving around gathering with friends and family to eat fantastic food.

Last year I was in charge of a large Thanksgiving party. A friend and I made these festive floral arrangements for each table centerpiece.

What you will need:
– pumpkin
– wide mouthed jar
– small bunch of flowers
– warm water

First, hollow out your pumpkin. Then, fill the jar with warm water and
the powder packet that accompanies the flower bunch. Place the jar
inside the pumpkin.

Arrange your flowers.

Enjoy your arrangement for as long as the flowers last!

This is an excellent use of a carving pumpkin that you never got
around to carving. Not that I would know or anything.

Thanks for having me, Liz!

Love this idea. I am going to use this one this year for my Thanksgiving table.

Great DIY. Someone brought in a pumpkin centerpiece to my work and I thought it was such a great idea. Will be archiving this for Thanksgiving next year.

I always wondered what they used to put the flowers in the pumpkins and gourds. I always thought they used that green florist sponge stuff. The glass jar seems much easier to use. Thanks!

Beautiful! I saw some of these at the floral shop the other day and thought about trying to make my own. Thanks for the easy instructions!
