Dad’s famous banana bread

This bread is so yummy. I made some for our neighbors who always shovel our driveway. It’s my dad’s signature treat.

Tim’s Banana Bread

1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
3 mashed super ripe bananas
pinch of salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 3/4 cup sifted flour

Grease loaf pan well with butter. Mix in order given, put in pan and bake for 1 hour and 20 to 30 minutes at 325.
This makes one large loaf. I doubled the recipe to make one large and two mini loaves

Thank you! This was great. Wasn’t sure if it was melted or softened butter in the batter, so used softened. Also, mine was done at 1hr10min and probably could have pulled it at least 5 minutes earlier. Thanks for sharing – I love the simplicity!

Thanks Dad, I just changed it. I THOUGHT it was butter, but that was the recipe trina gave me…

Tim says:I never use shortening. Use butter. Shortening is bad for you and tastes lousy when the bread cools. Grease the pan with butter too.

Hey Liz, what’s your Dad’s name? If I’m going to start using this recipe, I should refer to it by using the rightful author’s name…

oh man i think i’m gonna have to make some more. we gave way too much of that stuff away.

What a nice neighbor you are. I’ll have to try this recipe.
