Tartan vs. Cheetah

By fashion contributor Ashley

Prints have been a big hit this year and for this versus post I thought it would be fun to put some fall prints up against each other. On one side we have the tartan (or plaid) print, usually seen on flannel button ups and P.J.’s this print also has a sophisticated preppy side that is perfect for pattern mixing and bold colors. On the other side we have the cheetah pattern. Cheetah can be found on all sides of the spectrum, flashy and sexy or elegant and refined (depending on the piece and how you style it). It’s great as an accessory print to bump up an otherwise mundane outfit.  So what pattern do you pick?

I bought the plaid blazer seen here and I LOVE it. It has beautiful red-orange, details but I will admit… I’m itching to get my hands on a little bit of cheetah. I’m thinking a scarf or a belt.

I am a cheetah girl, 100%! Of the elegant and classic variety, though!

i’ve been known to put them both on at the same time! with mixing patterns so popular right now i say why not. i am also more partial to a red tartan than a green/blue when mixing with cheetah. love both looks so why choose 🙂

oh, i love cheetah. I definitely don’t think I could do tartan at all….but cheetah. yes. definitely.

I don’t think I could pick! I’m not a fan of big cheetah print though – like the blazer, don’t think I could do that. Love the shoes though and J.Crew has a to-die-for leopard scarf in stores right now…may have to make a stop there this afternoon!

I was looking for that exact scarf online! Glad to know they still have it in stores. Maybe I’ll stop by this weekend when my husband is out of town….

I’m Team Cheetah! I had the cheetah flats that Old Navy was selling this summer and loved them. Not sure I’d be brave enough to wear the blazer though. 🙂

I LOVE tartan, but leopard too. Sorry, I am not help. I couldn’t pick! These are all so cute!
