These wooden blocks are so timeless. I hope Henry prefers to play with toys like this, but something tells me he’s going to like ugly, noisy plastic toys like every other kid.

This website: http://www.lindenwoodinc.com/UNCLEGOOSE/foreign.html has awesome blocks. They are in multiple foreign languages and are beautiful to boot. My daughter’s favorite toys are rocks, acorn caps, and empty diaper boxes, so all the loud plastic toys lay around unloved, waiting for the day I chuck them.
we like the wooden blocks too…although our set has Thomas the Tank Engine on opposite sides of the letters. Also – our twins’ favorite toys ARE their Thomas the Tank Engine tracks and trains, but luckily, they are wooden toys as well – no sounds! (I refuse to buy the battery opperated ones as well)side note – we took away the VERY LOUD very awful plastic telephone that spewed songs and stuck it in a drawer. They don’t even realize we have it and I’m going to donate it to the salvation army. most things I can put up with, like our counting piggy bank, but this thing, I could not.
Hattie doesn’t play with junky plastic toys. I’m a good mom, so she plays with high class plastic toys that are probably coated with lead & anti-flamitory chemicals.
just don’t give him the junk toys. he’ll play with what he has.
Have you visited http://www.moolka.com? They have some really beautiful pieces, including ones by one of my favorite brands, Haba.
