What are your staple wardrobe pieces for summer? Today we’re partnering up with thredUP, the largest online consignment and thrift store, to talk about what our go-to summer styles are this year. Keep reading to see what our picks our, and a special discount on your first thredUP order…

I grew up thrifting. It was one of my favorite things to do with my mom and sisters in New York. We’d sift through racks and racks of clothes to find that coveted J.Crew sweater or a Limited dress (didn’t we all go through a Limited phase??). A couple months ago, I went to the thredUP warehouse here in the bay area a for a facebook live event and was blown away by the amount of inventory in that place, it puts all those thrift stores to shame! I could spend hours in those racks. Luckily, their online shop is way easier to search for treasures, with some amazing deals and lots of designer brands. My favorite boots I scored at thredUP and get compliments on them all the time.

Recently, thredUP put together a guide for their summer IT List of favorites and based on their recommendations, our team came with a few ideas as well. Say Yes team members Stephanie, Gaby and I each picked a look to share from thredUP. Here they are:

Flowy tops. This is all I wear in the summer. They can be dressed up (like the silky one above), or more casual like the gauzy one Stephanie’s wearing below. Either way they go with everything: shorts, jeans, high waisted pants, pencil skirts, etc. And I always half-tuck everything these days (do you?).

Wedge Sandals. The perfect ‘dressed up’ sandal for the summer that are super comfy and durable. Nice enough to wear to a summer wedding, and comfy enough to boogie the night away on the dance floor.

I’m wearing a Achro geometric flowy top (originally $89 down to $24.99)/Skies are Blue black shorts (only $9!)/Eric Michael wedge sandals (originally $89 down to $19.99) from thredUP.

Boyfriend jeans. Pack away those tight skinnies this summer. We’re loving the loose, destroyed boyfriend jeans. Roll them, cuff them, let them hang a little loose and wear with a tank, flowy top, or knotted tee. Personally, I’ve been a huge fan of the Levis lately (so classic and comfy). thredUP has a great selection of Levi’s too!

Gauzy tunics. I’m so into these gauzy tunics this year and oversized is our favorite! You can wear them as a dress, coverup, or over jeans. Lots of options.

Flat, strappy sandals. We’re all about comfort this season, so we’re loving all kind of flat, strappy sandals. Love the punch of gold in this Sol Sana pair we found at thredUP.

Stephanie’s wearing Sol Sana gold sandals (originally $107 down to $28.99) and Zara boyfriend jeans (originally $60 down to $19.99) from thredUP.

Bright dresses. It’s not summer without a playful, colorful dress to wear when the weather starts heating up. Loving the stripes and sunset colors in this silk dress by Tracy Reese we found on thredUP. Try an off-the-shoulder or strapless one this season too!

Straw hats. I’m all about them this year. In addition to hanging on my head, they also serve as decor on the wall and on the back of a dining room chair. We’re also loving all kinds of straw bags and chairs too for summer nights on the patio. All straw, all day!

Gaby’s wearing a Tracy Reese silk dress (originally $250 and snatched for only $50!) and Eric Micheal wedge sandals from thredUP

I really want to like threadup but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to sort through all the stuff on there that I don’t like. I just clicked pretty spring blouses and there was nothing springy or pretty about the selection. I wish they would curate their sections I little better. Any and all tips are greatly appreciated!
