Gaby is a transplant from Quebec, and now lives in Berkeley. She’s the mother of two sweet little girls, a talented seamstress and a crafting assistant here at Say Yes. We met at a park last year in Berkeley (I just had to ask her where her shirt was from) and have been good friends ever since! Today we’re tagging along with Gaby as they take a mini break at their favorite little cafe in Berkeley called Mission Heirloom.

Tucked away in the trendy shops of Berkeley is a little gem of a cafe called Mission Heirloom. It’s a great place to stop for a snack when you’re on the move or out running errands. With amazing lattes, gluten free/grain free treats like soft ginger cookies and scones, it’s become a favorite in Gaby’s neighborhood.
Gaby’s youngest, Eleanor, is 3 1/2 and full giggles and energy. You might remember her from some of the Halloween costumes this year. The Jane Fonda one was my favorite! She totally nailed it. Today she’s wearing the Jumping Beans print tee dress (only $13), and some silver OshKosh B’gosh sandals, both from Kohl’s. So easy and the print dress comes in a ton of different patterns like hearts, watermelons, and summery stripes. Lightweight and super soft, it’s perfect for playing outside in the warm weather ahead.
June is a little bit more shy, 7 yrs old, and finishing up Kindergarten. She’s wearing this SONOMA denim ruffle dress (only $16) and some classic kids Converse sneakers. I love the dress with sneakers look (Gaby’s also sporting the same!).
It’s so sweet to see June and Eleanor together. Gives me a glimpse of what Edie and Dot might be like in a few years. They are the best of friends. Gaby talks about how they play for uninterrupted hours with each other at home while she sews (imagine that!)
Gaby’s wearing the Polka Dot Cropped Jumpsuit, and a Wool Panama Hat, both from Kohl’s. Gaby is so good at wearing hats. She almost always shows up to work with one on, and always nails it. Plus her jumpsuit is so easy and stylish.
Thanks Gaby for letting us tag along with your sweet girls on your mini break at Mission Heirloom!

Mission Heirloom has fantastic coffee, and that courtyard is amazing.
Boy am I glad you said imagine that. Ha, it sounds great!
The picture of June leaning on the table is precious! Looks like you had a nice day out!
