Semi-sheer shirts are all over the place this spring, and my drawer is getting filled with colorful bras to wear with them. Here are five ways we like to wear sheer shirts in partnership with ThirdLove, a new bra and underwear company I love…
Last year I was introduced to ThirdLove and became an instant fan. They’re the only bras I wear now. A few things to know about them: First, they feature 1/2 cup sizes based on real women’s measurements. THANK YOU! Secondly, they have a comprehensive sizing system on their site to avoid those awkward bra ladies measuring you at a department store. Third, they offer a great try before you buy program so you have no obligation for 30 days. Fourth, the fit is amazing. Really, they are my favorite bras and the details are really lovely. Now that I’m done nursing, I’m excited to wear them every day and not just for a night out.
Here are a few ways we like to show off our colorful ThirdLove bras with sheer shirts this spring:
1.White semi-sheer top under overalls. We’re so into overalls lately. In the winter we love them with ribbed turtlenecks, but for spring it’s all about the semi-sheer shirt (maybe cropped if you’re feeling it!) and a tea rose colored ThirdLove classic t-shirt bra.
2. Black on black on black. We picked a pretty sheer shirt so it’s a bit more daring. But by sticking to all black (bra, pants, sheer shirt) it still looks classy and a little sexy with the ThirdLove black pushup bra in black.
Sheer over a summer tank dress. Tank dresses are a wardrobe staple in the summertime, but for spring it’s fun to have another layer on top. This year we’re loving a sheer shirt over them instead of the classic chambray shirt. I’d also wear this sheer shirt with a long black tank dress underneath. Can’t go wrong with black on black!
White tank with a colorful bra. This is the easiest look to try. Most white tees have a bit of sheer to them when worn with a dark colored bra. So choose one in a fun color (we choose the lace push-up bra in dark berry), and wear it with your favorite jeans or jean shorts. Just a touch of color to an otherwise ordinary outfit.
Business in front, party in back. I love these back sheer shirts, have you seen them around? They show off just a bit of the back of your bra, but nothing else. Doesn’t it look amazing with this lace racerback bra in light pink? It has an adjustable back strap, so you can find your perfect band fit easily. Plus, it creates natural lift and cleavage and the dreamy lace detailing is a great one to show off with a sheer top.
What do you think, would you wear a semi sheer shirt this spring?

I love the first outfit with the sheer white shirt. I have a pair of overalls I have yet to wear even though it’s been in my closet for two years now. I’m going to rock it when the weather gets warmer!
