Two Favorite Maternity Outfits

Dressing the bump is so tricky. You want to feel like yourself when your body is changing so drastically, but there are major limitations. One being the bump itself of course, and another being the cost of a whole new wardrobe to dress it. As I mentioned in the post last week about my favorite maternity pieces, I hate spending a lot on maternity clothing when I know I’ll only need it for a few months. So my wardrobe consists mostly of: heavily discounted clothing, hand me downs from friends, oversized dresses turned shirts, DIY maternity jeans (our tutorial here), and lots of consignment clothing.

Today I’m partnering with the awesome app Totspot to share a couple favorite maternity outfits. It’s an easy to use consignment shopping app for buying and selling kids and adults clothing/accessories. There are some amazing deals on there so it’s perfect for a maternity, transitional wardrobes, or just kids that grow out of things quickly! You can make an offer on any piece you find or pay the suggested amount. And shipping is always included in the price! Keep reading for more about it and two of my favorite outfits featuring pieces I picked from the Totspot app...

A couple features I love about Totspot: They have a great search mechanism so you can search by all types of clothing, price, brand, size, etc. They have a lot of high end brands too and there are huge deals to be found. You can favorite items and make an offer (if you want to negotiate) or you can just pay the price listed. The shop owners are super quick to respond and shipping is included in the price! It’s really easy to set up your own shop too. If you love something, you can find other pieces that same shop owner is selling. That’s how I found the awesome Zara coat below!

Two favorite looks:

Casual: Love this one! It feels comfortable, cool and easy to wear all pregnancy long. This pretty watercolor dress I bought on Totspot and it was only $25! I love wearing oversized dresses over jeans when I’m pregnant. It makes your old wardrobe work with your changing body and it makes for a great transitional wardrobe as well. My due date is in late April so this springy dress will be perfect to wear out and about with baby in the summer.

I like to style dresses over skinny, ripped jeans (this pair I made into maternity jeans doing this trick) and some low boots. A hat always feels cool and covers up any bad hair days.

Date night outfit: Featuring this awesome faux fur Zara coat! A friend told me recently a great pregnancy tip: splurge and buy a really nice coat if you’re pregnant in the winter. You may be able to get an extra size or two up and not buy a maternity coat with the style being so oversized right now. OR if it’s not too cold, you can just leave the too small but stylish coat unbuttoned. This Zara coat fit the bill and it was only $60 which I thought was a total steal for a fancy date night coat.

I styled the jacket with a really versatile jersey black dress and some fun gold boots. It’s always great to have a fun pair of shoes to wear when you’re pregnant (that is, if your feet don’t get too swollen). The necklace I made at an Oh Happy Day craft night a couple years ago and it’s still one of my favorites!

Now if only I can take my shoes on and off without injury. This 26 week belly is really starting to get in the way!
