project and styling by guest contributor Sugar & Cloth
Hello, Ashley here from Sugar & Cloth! I’m really excited to be able to share a simple project with you that’s perfect for the traveler at heart. Now that summer is in full swing and luggage has gotten a bit lighter, this DIY dotted summer scarf is easy to toss in your bag for a quick trip, mix with airy summer outfits, or just to keep cozy on the plane. Even better, you only need three supplies to make it!

Materials:
– Solid white (or color of your choice) cotton scarf
– Permanent fabric dye pen (I used the Tulip brand in black)
– Piece of cardboard or a magazine to rest underneath
Before using the marker on your scarf, place a piece of cardboard or magazine underneath the fabric so that it doesn’t bleed through. Next, make simple various sized scattered dots all over.
Once you’ve covered the entire scarf, let it dry for a few hours to set completely or follow the setting time instructions for your specific fabric marker.
