Last week I talked about our media trip to The Canyons Resort and Henry’s first time skiing (and how nice it was that we had nothing to do with it), today I’ll be talking about lodging and other fun stuff. We were put up in the Grand Summit hotel which is literally at the base of the gondola in the Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah. It was literally on the mountain. It felt so luxurious!

The heated outdoor pool and hot tub were a big hit after a long day skiing. Henry and Jared even got caught in a blizzard storm while they were out at the pool (how fun!). I was busy shopping the outlets with my sisters. 

 

But I think my favorite part of the hotel was the layout of our one bedroom suite. It felt very much like a cabin. A large family room with day beds pressed up against the large windows. Henry slept in one and we found him each morning like the first image above, peering out the window into the snowy wonderland.  There was a working fireplace, full kitchen, large family table to dine, separate master bedroom and bath.

One afternoon I took a gondola down to The Golden Door spa where I was treated to a Wasatch Stone Massage. I had picked it randomly but oh boy. I hit the jackpot! It was amazing! I think I’m officially converted to stone massages from here on out. The spa was huge and really wonderful with unnecessarily awesome stuff  like musical heated ceramic chairs and showers that felt like I was caught in tropical rainstorm.

One last thing: You have to promise me that if you visit The Canyons you’ll order the short ribs pomegranate nachos at the Red Tail Grill. I’m salivating right now thinking about them. I may or may not have ordered them two nights in a row they were that delicious. oh nom nom nom…
