Mema’s hot chocolate

It has been snowing here in Salt Lake non STOP since baby Hank was born a month ago. Seriously, everyday. It’s kind of amazing and also makes getting out of the house ( with a newborn) tricky. The snowiness has increased my hot chocolate consumption ten fold. My grandmother who recently passed away has a great homemade hot chocolate recipe you have to try. The thing that makes it extra special is the evaporated milk. Have you ever made hot cocoa from scratch before anyway? It’s super easy and so good especially with some of her homemade wheat bread.

Boil for 2-3 minutes:
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 heaping soup spoons of cocoa
1/3 heaping cup of sugar
dash salt

Add: 1 can evaporated milk and then regular milk to desired flavor ( I added about 1 1/2 cups)
I would also recommend adding a dash of cinnamon.
