I started working on a few extra seasonal projects to keep my mind off that due date last week circled in red. One that I had been meaning to do was make homemade granny smith applesauce in the crockpot. I love the tartness of granny smiths and of course, I’m all about apples right now (we go through at least 6 or 7 a day at our house). There is very very little sugar in this at all, so it’s a delicious guilt-free snack.

Homemade Granny Smith Apple Sauce
8 large granny smith apples, quartered (we left a few with peels on them but it’s up to you)
3/4 cup of apple cider
pinch of salt
2 pinches of cinnamon
3 T of sugar
Toss into your crock pot and cook on low for 3-4 hours.
I’m seeing more and more recipes for different versions of this floating around the internet. I think I may have to give in and try it.
Ummmm yummy 🙂
