Denim on Denim Trend: Yea or Nay?

denim on denimFall is just about here and every fall I find myself being more drawn to denim as summer skirts and dresses get packed away for the season. This year I’ve seen a lot of lighter wash jean options, cropped denim vests, and destroyed skinny jeans (I have a tutorial on how to perfectly distress your jeans here).

But the real question is the denim on denim trend I’ve seen around. I’ve seen so many people mix and match washes of jean on jean and not look like they’re in a full denim jumpsuit (although those are kind of cute as well!). It also works well with the western trend of cowboys boots and stiff felt  ‘Indiana Jones hats’ (like the one above), as I like to call them. What do you think? Would you wear denim on denim?

denim-on-denim-old-navy7Don’t you love the lighter wash skinny jeans in style? I especially love a destroyed pair with a cropped jean jacket and a few layers of gold jewelry.

A felt hat is one of the favorite hats we also featured in this post, if you remember. Love that trend!

Oh yes love the denim on denim, especially that chambray shirt and jeans

Definitely Yea! I didn’t hop on board with this trend until recently, but I can definitely say I’m a fan. It’s perfect for this time of transition between seasons!

Here in Canada we call it the “Canadian Tuxedo” and I am happy to see it in style!

I’m still unsure, others can pull it off but i don’t know if i could!

I think I could totally do denim on denim especially with a chambray shirt and jeans. Cute hat!
