DIY Polka Dot Potholder Set

Did you hear the good news about my sister in law Gabby of Design Mom? She and her family are moving back from France-right here to the bay area! We’re so excited. We spent some time yesterday reviewing with Henry the 6 cousins that will be moving here. It’s been so long, he doesn’t really remember them really at all! I know once he becomes reintroduced they’ll be instant buddies though.

Anyway, so housewarming gifts are on my mind lately and when I spotted this green potholder set at the store for only $4, I knew I had to add a little handmade polka dot touch to them. Wrap them in a bow and maybe stick some painted ombre spoons inside the mitt for a handmade housewarming gift.

To make the polka dots:

1. Pour a bit of paint onto scrap paper and dip the eraser end of the pencil into the paint, then stamp onto the potholder. Re-dip for each polka dot.

2. Wait for the first side to dry before polka-dotting (totally a word) the second side.
