Farewell to my Mema

Last Thursday my wonderful grandmother passed away peacefully here in Salt Lake. She was 85 years old and on her last leg since a terrible fall she had in July. She passed away surrounded by many of her children, including my mother who was out here helping her. She had an energy about her that was so warm and contagious- all who knew her immediately loved her and admired her. She was the very center of the family and a good friend. I am so sad to see her go and will miss her terribly. Salt Lake will never be the same without her, but it makes me happy to think that she is finally reunited with her dear husband who she lost almost 28 years ago to cancer. All but two of her 32 grandchildren and their families were able to fly out for the funeral last Friday. It was a beautiful service. Her obituary is here.
