Last month I had the chance to attend another Safeway tour, this time up in Petaluma with Alvarado Street Bakery, Lagunitas Brewery and Tillamook Cheese…
I’ve been on a few of these the past couple of years. We’ve gone artichoke harvesting, seafood sampling in Monteray, up to the vineyards in Napa Valley, produce picking in the valley, and to Safeway’s culinary kitchens. It’s been a really fun partnership! This time we headed up to Petaluma, about an hour north of San Francisco to visit Alvarado Street Bakery, Laguintas Brewery and feast on some delicious treats from Tillamook.
You can see a slideshow below of our tour, and keep reading for my toast bar inspired recipe idea!
Because it’s simple, it’s important to use the best ingredients like Alvarado Street bread and Tillamook cheese and butter.
Keep a toaster out and then let guests go crazy with all different kinds of topping and combinations. Here are our favorites, all on Alvarado Street Sprouted California Style Bread:
French Style. Tillamook Salted Butter with Tillamook Swiss, thinly sliced ham, chopped chives and salt.
Fall Flavors. Apples with Tillamook Sharp Cheddar, cinnamon, honey mustard and chopped pecans.
Which would you pick? Would be fun for lunch paired with a sampling of Lagunitas beer as well!
Thanks to Safeway for sponsoring this post and also Alvarado Bakery, Tillamook, and Lagunitas Brewery for partnering.
