I was going to title this post My Favorite Candle, but it turns out it’s close to everyone’s favorite candle (and will be yours as well if it’s not already!)…
Are scents important for your home? I never thought I was big on scents (ahem, good scents), until I met this candle. It’s called Maison Louis Marie No. 4 Balincourt. My friend Amanda gifted it to me last month and it’s incredible.
I’m going to be terrible at describing it (too bad this isn’t a print magazine where I can include a little flap for you to sample it!), but it’s subtle and woodsy. From the website description it includes scents of cedarwood, sandlewood, with small hints of earthy tones and a bit of cinnamon.
What I can tell you is that I started traveling with it from room to room depending on where I was spending time so the scent could follow me. My studio while I was working, the girls room while I’m getting them ready for bed, back into the kitchen while I’m doing dinner prep, the bathroom while I’m taking a shower, etc. In short, I want my whole life to smell like this scent (is that too much to ask??).
I did a little research online and found that I’m an definitely not the only one who wants to swim in this scent all my life. It’s got somewhat of a cult following.
Within a week, I ended up buying two more so I wouldn’t have to carry the one from room to room, and then I bought a bunch more for the advisory group of women who help contribute content ideas for Say Yes (I need to do a post on that- stay tuned!). Every month I send them little gift packages with some of my favorite things as a thank you.
Then, like a proper scent-addict, I even bought the perfume oil version of the scent. Found a great bargain for buying the oil and candle as a set together right here at Ban.do. Their description is spot on too, “It kind of makes us feel like we’re outside on the first day of fall and it’s the perfect amount of cold and everything is gonna be ok.” Ahhh yes. Perfect.
