Just when I thought these .79 cent IKEA TEKLA dish towels couldn’t get better, I’m taking some cues from Martha Stewart and inspired to dye them into pretty spring colored napkins this year.
Spring Napkin Tip
I’ve never used iDye but I’m super curious about the pellets. You throw them in with the towels you’re dyeing in the washer, and then dry them normally. “The whole process is as easy as running a load of laundry.”
It’s making me fall in love with this versatile dish towel all over again. There are so many ways people are getting crafty with them: toy bags, pillows, curtains, lunch bags (current favorite- pictured here), etc. Inspired to pick more up on my next IKEA run. Are they a staple in your home too?
I love these tea towels as napkins so much! I once purchased 21 of them for dedicated use when having people over for a rib BBQ. I didn’t want to chance ruining any of my daily or linen napkins with all that messy red sauce. I came to love the towel as napkin so much I passed along all my sets of 4 in various colors and patterns and went with the Ikea towel as our daily use napkins. I haven’t bought paper napkins (or paper towels) in three decades. It’s nice to have all the napkins the same and they wash up so nicely. When one becomes too stained for kitchen use, it goes into the rag basket for cleaning.
