As you can see, we’ve made some huge changes around here. Here’s a little tour of the brand new, shiny Say Yes…
A new logo and tagline. I really wanted something clean and fresh with a tagline to more accurately describe the content we produce here. After working with a branding expert, we decided on: practical.meaningful.beautiful which I really love and resonates with all the content we try to produce here at Say Yes.
A new editorial layout for posts. As you can start to see already with this article, we are using a more editorial/magazine layout for our posts. I really wanted a nice flow, plenty of white space, and something that showcased the images. You can also see on the home page there is one highlighted article a day. You can scroll through some of the other posts on our home page to see other examples (warning: if you click READ MORE long enough though you might find some that we’re still working on re-designing!).
We’ve removed all banner ads and sidebars. It’s about time. You can still see featured posts in the carousel on the front page, and all the other information you might miss are in the ABOUT and PARTNERSHIPS pages.
A New Tutorial Design. You know how sometimes you see a project but don’t want plan on making it right that second? We decided to move all the steps into a carousel so you can keep scrolling through the post without having to wade through all the directions for a tutorial. We also use this same design for fashion posts and links. Here’s how it looks:
STEP BY STEP CAROUSEL
New About page. Find out more about the rebranding exercise we’ve done, and what makes Say Yes stand out. Also, introductions to everyone on the Say Yes team!
Partnerships page. Be sure to check out the new Partnerships page at the footer with lots of readership information, and over 30 examples of sponsored posts in a carousel at the bottom.
Huge thanks. I’m amazed at how many people were involved to make this happen; a branding expert, logo designer, site designer, development team, and many others. It was not a small undertaking.
Also thanks to my own Say Yes team for stopping everything and making this happen. It’s been a long time coming, and I hope you enjoy the new Say Yes!
