Let’s Pick a Dress!

halsbrook

Every summer there seems to be enough formal events that I find myself itching to buy a new special occasion dress as the weather starts getting warmer. This summer in particular, it’s extra special because my older sister is getting married in the desert of Southern Utah! Will you help me pick a dress?

This post is in partnership with Halsbrook,an online boutique for women’s clothing and accessories.

Have you heard of Halsbrook? I was unfamiliar with them, but excited now to be well acquainted! They offer a very curated collection of pieces from over 80 European and American designers that you can’t find anywhere else online. They carry everything from dresses, skirts and accessories to pants, handbags and blouses (isn’t this floral tie top so cute for summer?). The styles are all timeless (nothing too trendy) so you can find an outfit that will last years, and not just one season.

And right now is a great time to check them out because their Ready, Set, Spring Sale is going on and you can save up to 40% on select styles right here.

Dress #1: LK Bennett Rosie White Dress with Flutter Sleeves (above): The fabric and flow of this dress is amazing. It doesn’t feel too trendy either. A gorgeous,  classic white dress I could wear to every summer event for years.

With the LK Bennett dress I’m wearing these classic Julie Vos Savannah Pearl Drop Earrings (aren’t they gorgeous?) and this lovely Christopher Kon Woven Blush Leather Clutch below that I’m totally obsessed with. The leather is woven in such a beautiful way and it’s the perfect blush pink.

Dress #2:  ‘S MaxMara Tanaro Ottaman Dress. I love the shape and fabric of this dress. It’s in that perfect a line shape which is flattering for every figure, and the color is really stunning.

With sleeveless dresses I have to have some kind of shawl so I don’t get too chilly (especially for an evening desert wedding). Isn’t this Janavi Ivory Embroidered Shawl so lovely? It’s got beautiful embroidered butterflies and other bugs on it.

Dress #3: Paule KA White Dress with Self-Tie Waist. I love this one! It feels really versatile. I could wear it to the park, and add some fancy heels and earrings for a summer wedding. Also, I’m really digging the kimono style as well. It feels really modern.

With the Paule KA dress I’m wearing this intricate Santi Beaded Oval Clutch (above) which is the perfect statement clutch, and a Julie Vos Fern Gold Cuff which is so stunning.

Now that we’ve sorted out the outfits, let’s work on my wedding party dance moves, shall we?

What do you think? Which dress would you pick?

Number one! So elegant. It is a bit odd colour for someone else’s wedding, but since the dress is so modern it’s not really a problem. But it would work great in, say, yellow. (I actually tried that in Photoshop).

First one! If it can’t be white, than the pink one.
But the first outfit is absolutely amazing from head to toe!

Hi! Long time reader and I love your site and your fashion posts/roundups! This post doesn’t really feel like it fits with your normal sponsored or fashion posts…the style feels a little forced to me for the sake of the partnership! I’ve never felt that way before, but just wanted to mention that this one feels a little off 🙂

They all look great but I feel like the last one is more “you”. I can totally seeing you getting more wear out of it over the other dresses too. Just as long as it’s not see through in sunlight! It looks like the fabric is pretty light.

They all look great on you, but I think I’d go with the pink one — in case you have a wedding or two to go to.

All these look lovely on you! I generally stick to the rule of thumb to never wear white to a wedding as to not upstage the bride– so with that I pick the pink one if you’re planning to wear the dress to lots of summer weddings.

um. i think someone is playing a practical joke on you… that’s a $655 bathrobe.

ha! $655 is a lot of $ for a wrap dress.

i do think these white dresses are lovely, but maybe it’s my southern upbringing; i can’t bring myself to wear white to someone else’s wedding!
